Passport photos

Another trip to Cotonou is forthcoming since our visas expire in the next couple of weeks :-( We're planning to travel on Sunday and pray that we won't need to stay more than two or three days!

We gave all our passport photos from the UK to the immigration bureau last time we were there when we applied for the 'carte de sejour' (residency card), but we need to take photos with us to apply for our new visas so today we went in search of somewhere that could do photos for us. We weren't sure what to expect, but after some confused directions from a few different locals, we finally find a shop that appeared to be in the photo industry...

It's not exactly Jessops but we didn't have much choice!

I asked the guy there if they did passport photos and he replied very enthusiastically that indeed they do and they do so very quickly! He then ushered us behind the shop into a little alley and proceeded to take our photos:

It's kind of like a photo booth I suppose.....! Haha...

Within five minutes, the photos were printed and cut very nearly (not) with a rough pair of scissors. The UK passport office certainly wouldn't think twice before rejecting these photos!! Hopefully Bénin Immigration isn't very strict!

And here are the mug shots, complete with a vibrant pink border... We're not miserable here - we promise!
