This is not yet apparent on our AFM page as the money is still in various accounts (USA, UK and German) awaiting processing. However, we have kept careful records of each donation and we have actually raised over $22,000 due to the generosity of our friends and family and some of their friends too! We have been truly humbled by this experience and give thanks to God for the generous spirit He has given to others.
We are in communication with those who donated after our target was reached to find out how they would like us to use the money. So far, most people have indicated that they would like us to use it for other opportunities in the community/community needs that arise after we have arrived in Benin. Other options include donating to the AFM Student Missionary Fund to help fund students who wish to go and serve overseas and donating to one of the Benin special projects.
Two weeks tomorrow, we will be arriving at the AFM Training Centre, Michigan (see picture below), for our month-long training... We can't wait!!
